| Come To Our Cabin Fever Busters!
Music, dancing, free play. All could be found during our first Cabin Fever Buster! addition to our Open Play on April 1. Musician Dave Hamilton (who also handles some Wiggleworm duties at the Old Town School of Folk Music) joined us for an afternoon of singing and music, and not a soul was sitting.
Our next one is scheduled for April 29. Children's entertainer Tracey Ellert will be stopping by to tell stories. And the following week, May 6, the Mad Hatters, who entertained us during our anniversary party last October, will be making a return appearance.
Stop on in for either (or both) events, which are included in our already scheduled Open Plays. They're sure to be a great time. | | | Get Ready for the 5K It's time to start training. The GiGi's Playhouse 9th Annual Chicagoland 5K Fun Run/1 Mile Walk/Dash for Down Syndrome is set for June 10, at the Arboretum Shopping Center of South Barrington. Team Registration is already open (just click this link to set up a team and begin fundraising). But there are other ways you can help. Sponsorships as low as $1,000 guarantee a spot on the T-shirt distributed to all participants (which are often worn throughout the year). If you own a business, work for a business or know someone who owns or works for a business, let them know of this great opportunity to get their company's name in front of a motivated and appreciative audience. Sponsorship details are available by clicking this link. Or send us an e-mail for more information. | | Join the Ribfest Fun! We're still looking for people to fill shifts at Ribfest. We've secured a prime time to work (Saturday, June 9, between 2 and 6 p.m.), which means you can help out and then spend the evening partaking of the ribs, suds and music well into the evening. This is a great opportunity to get a group together (such as neighbors or close friends), spend an afternoon working (we get $50 a shift), and then the evening together. There can never be too many volunteers supporting us (and/or filling other shifts.) Let's fill as many shifts as we can! Download the form on this link, fill it out and either e-mail it to craig@bigbuzzideagroup.com (and copy us, chicago@gigisplayhouse.org, as well) or return it to the Playhouse. |

(We've mentioned them before as a group of Young Ambassadors doing great work on our behalf.) On Wednesday, April 25, this group of 14 students is coming to the Playhouse for a visit, during which they plan on performing a skit during our regular Open Play (9:30 -11:30). If you're available, come on in that morning for the fun of their performance and to show our appreciation for all they've already done for the Playhouse. |
| On Our Way to 1,000 Our campaign to expand our Facebook group is ongoing. Want an easy way to help? Go to our group (we assume you're already a member), and on the right hand side, there should be a list of your friends who might be interested in joining. It's a simple click of the mouse to add them, so go ahead and do it. Or, just send out a mass invite to them using Facebook's messaging tools. | | |
